Visiting Angels is a home health care service that has been in operation since 1998 providing elder care services to families across the country. Each Visiting Angels location is individually owned and operated. The Visiting Angels in Farmington Hills and Ann Arbor is family owned and operated by the Quinnette family. It is their passion to help seniors in their community with the goal of keeping them independent in the comfort of their own home.

1) Personal Care

Personal care services provide seniors and disabled individuals with compassionate assistance for activities of daily living, which may be difficult or unsafe for these individuals to perform on their own. Also referred to as private duty care, these services cover personal activities, like dressing and bathing, and homemaking tasks, like meal preparation and light housekeeping.

2) Companion Care

Elderly Companion Care services include meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands and shopping, and of course, companionship. If your family member, friend, or loved one enjoys their independence but is struggling with everyday activities, elderly companion care is the solution.

3) Respite Care

Caring for a loved one is one of the most generous and caring things you can do. Whether you’re caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s or a disabled sibling, you’re providing the assistance they need to continue living safely at home. But what do you do when you need a break? The in-home respite care program from Visiting Angels is here to help.

Being a family caregiver is a rewarding, yet demanding role. To provide the best possible care, you need to be sure you are also taking good care of yourself. Attending to your own diet, incorporating exercise, taking breaks, and looking after your emotional well-being is essential. Many family caregivers find it difficult to spend time focusing on their own needs, when their loved one is the focus of their attention. Respite care allows you to disengage for a few hours or a few days to rest and recharge.

4) Dementia Care

When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia, their well-being will depend on family, friends, and familiar surroundings. Over time, your loved one will likely rely on family caregivers and the comfort of their home more and more. You may find yourself overwhelmed trying to care for your loved one. Eventually, you may start to worry that you will need to move your loved one into a nursing facility.

5) End Of Life Care

The end of life is a natural part of our life cycle, but that doesn’t make it any less difficult. Now that an increasing number of people choosing to spend their final days at home, it’s important that families have access to compassionate and supportive end of life care services. Unfortunately, this aspect of care is often misunderstood or overlooked in the training process for caregivers and health care providers.

At Visiting Angels, we believe that every family should have the support services they need during the end of life transition. Through our end of life care services, our caregivers will do all that we can to keep your loved one as comfortable as possible as they make this transition. While our end of life care does not include hospice care, our caregivers can work along side and support hospice care providers. We will also support you and your family, providing a helping hand whenever you need one.
